The installation process is straightforward and easy:

1. Turn off the water supply and, if present, press the red pressure-relief button.
2. Unscrew the housing, remove the large o-ring, wipe it clean, and set it aside.
3. Discard the used filter cartridge, wash the housing with dish soap and warm water using a nonabrasive sponge or cloth, and rinse thoroughly.
4. Fill the housing 1/3 with water, add about 1 tablespoon of bleach, and scrub to disinfect. Rinse thoroughly.
5. Lubricate the o-ring with clean silicone grease and check for any damage or degradation. Insert the o-ring into the groove, ensuring it is seated level.
6. Insert the new filter cartridge.
7. Screw the housing onto the cap and hand-tighten. Do not overtighten.
8. Turn on the water supply, press the pressure-relief button (if present), and check for leaks before leaving the installation.
